Bodrum: home of Blue Cruise

Most guests embark for a week sailing tour. Our ship has a permanent mooring in Bodrum, along the famous seafront in Neyzen Tevfik Caddesı, near the Tepecik mosque. Seaport Bodrum is located on a peninsula in the Aegean Sea. The harbour and the centre lie around two 2 bays with the large crusaders’ castle from 1400 in between. Bodrum already existed in about 1000 B.C. and by then was called Halikarnassos. In ancient times Halikarnassos was known for its grave for king Mausolos, the mausoleum. At the time this was said to be one of the seven Wonders of the World. Today Bodrum is a centre of tourism with many shops, bars, restaurants, some museums and of course the lively promenade to go for a walk. The white houses against the hills, the absence of high buildings, and the many small characteristic alleys make Bodrum an attractive town for a visit.
